Google Pay and Samsung Pay gain cryptocurrency support earlier this year, allowing users to pay for transactions using Bitcoin and more. Now, rival mobile payment app Venmo has announced support for cryptocurrencies as well.
Crypto for Venmo will allow the app’s users to buy, hold, and sell four types of cryptocurrency. These currencies are Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin. Users can choose to spend as little as $1 on buying cryptocurrency, using funds from their Venmo balance or via linked accounts and cards.
In addition to the aforementioned abilities, the Venmo app will also give users access to cryptocurrency trends, how-to videos, and guides.
Crypto for Venmo is rolling out from today and will be available for both Android and iOS apps. Not seeing it in your app just yet? Well, the mobile payment app cautions that it will be available to all users “within the next few weeks.”
