Vivo Singapore announced the launch of a new 5G mid-range smartphone in the local market, called Vivo Y72 5G. Its 8GB + 128GB single version starts at only S$429 (US$323).
It was released in time to provide consumers with more options for some recently released mid-range smartphones, including Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite and OPPO A94, and their price positioning is similar.
Vivo Y72 5G has a 6.58-inch FHD + IPS LCD display, which provides a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate, and is pre-installed with a 16-megapixel selfie camera above the dew point. On the right edge of the phone, there is also a power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
On the reverse side, it has a slender camera island that introduces a three-camera system that includes a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel micro Distance unit.
The phone is powered by an eight-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset under the hood, draws power from a considerable 5,000mAh battery, and supports 18W fast charging. In addition, it is also worth noting that the device supports microSD card for storage expansion, and also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
As for the Vivo X60 series, following the success of the Vivo X50 series of smartphones last year, Vivo Singapore is going to launch a new Vivo X60 series of smartphones in the local market.
Just like its predecessor, the new Vivo X60 series smartphones continue to attach great importance to mobile photography, bringing the second-generation gimbal-style camera system jointly developed with Zeiss.
In the camera department, Vivo X60 and X60 Pro have many similarities, including the same 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 main camera, 13-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and a 13 megapixels ultra-wide camera with 120-degrees field-of-view.
The only difference between the two is that the main camera of the Vivo X60 Pro is equipped with a gimbal stabilization system, while the vanilla X60 gets the traditional OIS stabilization function.
In addition, you can also expect that both phones can click great photos in low-light environments and take ultra-stable video recordings with the help of their advanced stabilization system.
The front panels of the Vivo X60 and X60 Pro are both equipped with the same 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, with a smooth refresh rate of 120Hz, HDR10+ support, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Although the Vivo X60 has a flat-panel display, the X60 Pro replaces a curved display.
At the helm, the two phones will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 870 chipset, which supports dual-mode 5G. In the storage department, both Vivo X60 and X60 Pro have a huge 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage space, which is enough to meet the needs of most users.
To keep the lights on, the Vivo X60 is equipped with a respectable 4,300mAh battery, while the X60 Pro has a slightly lower 4,200mAh battery capacity. Both phones will share the same 33W flash charging technology.
In terms of the software-side, the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro run on the latest OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11. Both they also support advanced connectivity options including NFC, Bluetooth 5.1 and Dual-band Wi-Fi.
As for the prices, the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro are priced at S$999 and S$1,199 respectively in Singapore, and will be available for purchase starting May 15th via official channels such as M1, Singtel, StarHub, ecommerce platforms, vivo flagship store at Causeway Point and authorised dealers islandwide.
For a limited time, those who purchase any vivo X60 series 5G smartphone through official online platforms will be entitled to exclusive premiums worth up to $498.
