Sony releases WH-1000XM4 headphones in eye-catching white, do you like it?

Sony just found another way to keep its WH-1000XM4 headphones relevant despite fierce competition: offer them in a hard-to-find color. Slashgear reports that Sony has introduced a limited edition of the headphones in Silent White.

It’s more than just a color change. Sony says the white headphones come in a pearlescent finish that adds a “sense of depth” and refines their tactile feel. More importantly, the new hue is reportedly “even more stain-resistant” than the black, blue, and silver models available now. You shouldn’t have to worry that they might pick up dyes from your bag or clothes.

The performance of the white Sony headphones is identical to what you’d get with any other WH-1000XM4 model, of course. That’s not a bad thing. You’re still getting strong active noise cancellation, up to 30 hours of claimed battery life, NFC compatibility, and optimizations for voice helpers like Alexa and Google Assistant. We found they delivered excellent sound with a comfortable design and minimal background noise, albeit with finicky touch controls.
