Remember the “Airpeak” artificial intelligence drone project launched by Sony in November last year? It came today.
At the CES 2021 exhibition, Sony launched its first drone aerial photography equipment-Airpeak, so Sony officially entered the field of drones.
It is reported that the Airpeak drone launched this time is the smallest drone capable of carrying an Alpha camera and can be used for professional photography and video content production.
This drone adopts a quad-rotor design, and the fuselage is equipped with two landing gears. At the same time, in order to avoid affecting the shooting effect, the landing gear can be retracted upwards during the flight.
It is worth noting that the Sony concept electric car VISION-S also appeared in the promotional film.
The car made its debut in January last year. Sony officially announced that the Vision-S will accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers in only 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 kilometers per hour.
Turning its attention back to Airpeak, Sony stated that it will be committed to further advancement and creation of unprecedented new value through the application of imaging/sensing technology and 3R technology (Reality, Real-time and Remote) in the field of drones make a contribution.
It is understood that the Airpeak UAV will be launched this spring. The price and configuration are currently unknown, and follow-up related information will continue to be tracked.
Although Sony is in its infancy in the field of drones, relying on its powerful camera imaging system, the official launch of Airpeak will surely cause a new “race” in the field of professional drones.
At present, in the global UAV market, the DJI series of UAVs account for more than 70% of the share. As a leader in the UAV field, DJI Innovation may become Sony’s main benchmark.
