Smart design – Xiaomi’s patent of the concealed camera has exposed

A Xiaomi patent titled “Electronic Devices and Concealed Camera” has been exposed by renderer LetsGoDigital, which improves the reliability of a lift-up camera and eliminates the need for a set of cameras.

The concealed camera is still the most mature design of Infinity Display. And this exposure of the Xiaomi patent is an upgraded version of the concealed camera.

The patent was approved by the USPTO and WIPO on January 7, 2021. According to the patent, the phone’s sensors are tucked inside the body and can be lit by a raised mirror.

Most specifically, the mirror can be rotated to double as both a selfie and a rear camera (which can also do face recognition). In addition, the angle of the rotatable mirror can be customizable, and the lens direction can be electrically controlled, like the moving head of a surveillance camera.
