Apple celebrates 40 years of innovative progress in Singapore

For many, our love affair with Apple might have started in 2007 when the company launched the first iPhone, but Apple and Singapore have a 40 year history that started way back in 1981, and has grown significantly since then, with the American tech giant covering everything from fostering job creation, aiding economic growth, educational outreach as well as environmental sustainability. And it culminated last year with the opening of what is arguably the most iconic Apple Store in the world, at Marina Bay Sands. Apple’s arrival was likely a few months earlier, but in July 1981, when the little red dot was a fledgling 16-year old nation, Apple opened its first plant in Ang Mo Kio Industrial Estate with 7,500 sqm of leased space, while building a 10,000 sqm factory in a nearby site. What many may not know then, was that this was only the company’s second manufacturing plant outside of the US.

RedTom Thoughts😊: Indeed, Apple is a very awesome tech giant, hope we can see more and more creative products made by Apple.

Adobe releases updated Apple M1 support for Premiere Pro

It hasn’t been that long since Apple launched its M1-powered iMacs and now Adobe has released Premiere Pro support specifically it. The software company has previously launched a beta of this version back in December 2020 and with its successful integration, it is now officially available for the public. Adobe states that there are speed increases throughout the app, from a 50% faster launch to 77% faster “editing,” whatever that giant term encompasses. Additionally, Creative Cloud apps like Premiere Pro will be able to run over 80% faster on an M1 Mac compared to those which are identically configured on average according to the company.

RedTom Thoughts😊: Great, I can use Adobe items smoothly on M1 Apple laptop! Amazing!

Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 prices leak again

The online shop LambdaTek has already listing Samsung’s upcoming folding smartphones, roughly three weeks before its Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11. While LambdaTek has not published any photos of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, it has revealed their prices, among other things. Galaxy Z Flip 3 will arrive at least €975.04 excluding VAT, and with 128 GB of storage. Adding VAT brings the price to nearly €1,200, which consumers will see when ordering the handset in the Eurozone. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes in at €1,673.21, excluding VAT and over €2,000 with the tax factored in. You do get 256 GB of storage with this model, though.

RedTom Thoughts😊: Will it be better than Xiaomi Mix Fold? I doubt that.

The surprisingly good ADATA XPG Xenia 14 is now shipping starting at $1099 USD

After fumbling with the XPG Xenia Gaming laptop last year, ADATA has bounced back with two excellent follow-ups each running on Intel’s latest 11th gen Tiger Lake platform. The latest model is the 14-inch Xenia 14 notable for being a superlight Ultrabook at just under 1 kg. Now, ultralight 14-inch laptops under 1 kg are nothing new as there are a small handful of examples including the LG Gram 14 or Acer Swift 7. However, the Xenia 14 is one of the few in a 16:10 form factor and with removable RAM and no major performance deficits. Other models in this category tend to come with soldered RAM and smaller cooling solutions which limit upgradeability and performance, respectively, in order to meet the low weight target.

RedTom Thoughts😊: Nice, a new best gaming laptop is here!

Mi MIX 4: The first mobile phone with a front camera under the screen and Snapdragon 888 Plus

Based on the currently known news, Mi MIX 4 will be equipped with a 6.67-inch non-perforated hyperboloid display provided by TCL Huaxing. Whereas, due to the limitations of the proactive technology under the screen, it does not have a standard 2K resolution like the Xiaomi Mi 11 series, and only supports 1080P. In terms of configuration, Xiaomi MIX4 will also have top performance. The phone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, which will also become the world’s first Snapdragon 888 Plus phone to be listed.

RedTom Thoughts😊: I will become the first people to buy the Mi MIX 4 in the world! I love Xiaomi!
