In the 5G era, with the enhancement of performance and the enrichment of application scenarios, the power consumption of mobile terminals has further increased.
In the case that the battery capacity cannot be increased significantly, increasing the fast charge power is the most direct and effective way to save the “battery anxiety disorder”.
At present, the Android camp has mass-produced commercial 100-watt super fast chargers, and the new flagship of OnePlus to be released next year will also support 100-watt fast charging. This will be the OnePlus flagship phone with the fastest charging speed so far.
According to news on November 15th, the OnePlus 10 Pro battery has a capacity of 5000mAh and supports 125W super flash charging.
Phone Arena pointed out that the charging speed of the OnePlus 10 Pro “makes Apple shame”, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max launched by the latter has a fast charging power of less than 30W.
At present, the 4500mAh+65W super fast charge can be fully charged in about 30 minutes, and the OnePlus 10 Pro 125W super flash charge is expected to be fully charged in about 30 minutes.
To achieve this charging efficiency, OnePlus may use a parallel three charge pump scheme.
The solution is that the 20V 6.25A power output by the charger is converted into 10V 12.5A into the battery through three parallel charge pumps. Each charge pump only needs to convert 20V 2.1A about 42W of power.
This effectively avoids the overload and overheating of the charge pump caused by high current.
In addition, OnePlus 10 Pro should be one of the first phones equipped with the Snapdragon 898 flagship chip, and it is expected to be released in early 2022.
