iPhone SE 4 to Use iPhone XR’s Design

According to leaker Jon Prosser, the design of the fourth-generation iPhone SE is almost identical to the iPhone XR.

According to the leak, the fourth-generation ‌iPhone SE‌ will effectively share the design of the ‌iPhone‌ XR since 2018. Given that the design of the first-generation ‌iPhone SE‌ was based on the 2013 ‌iPhone‌, the change was reasonable. 5S, while the second- and third-generation ‌iPhone SE‌ are based on 2017’s ‌iPhone‌ 8.

The latest information expands on Prosser’s initial statement from August, but he remains unclear on the device’s internals and specs — although it may use some older hardware to keep costs down. To showcase the design of the fourth-generation iPhone SE, Apple concept graphic designer Ian Zelbo created renderings designed to accurately depict the new device:

In October 2021, a report from Chinese site MyDrivers made it clear that the ‌iPhone SE‌ would move to a design similar to the ‌iPhone‌ XR — a claim that now appears to be corroborated by a range of other sources.

The fourth-generation iPhone SE was rumored long before the launch of the third-generation model earlier this year. Prosser’s latest statement is in line with recent predictions from display analyst Ross Young, who said the next-generation “iPhone SE” will feature a 6.1-inch display with a “notch” cutout at the top of the display. Back in 2019, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo first said that Apple was working on an iPhone SE with a 6.1-inch LCD display. Since the ‌iPhone‌ XR features a 6.1-inch LCD display with a notch notch, rumors about the design of the next-generation ‌iPhone SE‌ appear to be widely shared.
