Well, we already know that USB-C will be coming to the iPhone 15 series, but on a condition. No, it’s not you, don’t worry, it’s Apple (according to the leak).
The upcoming iPhone 15 series will come with USB-C but conditional information.
USB-C will be there, as Mr. Ming-Chi Kuo said, our only reliable source for leaks.
So moving on, Mr. Ming-Chi Kuo is now reporting that this will significantly increase the wired transfer speeds of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
While the entire iPhone 15 series, the iPhone 15, iPhone Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, will switch to USB-C, only the transfer speeds of these two high-end devices have improved.
Kuo stats that “iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will retain the same USB 2.0 transfer speed as Lightning”.
Kuo further states that “iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra?) will have data transfer speeds of “at least USB-C 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3.” Additionally, USB-C 3.2 can increase data transfer speeds to Up to 20 Gbps, and Thunderbolt 3 will further increase to 40 Gbps.
But as more and more leaks pour in, it will be interesting to see how Apple will bring its iPhone 15 series into compliance with European regulations.
