News on May 10 revealed a new patent for the under-screen camera of Xiaomi.

Unlike other patents for under-screen cameras, in the under-screen camera solution shown by Xiaomi, the camera can be rotated.

The patent shows that the Xiaomi mobile phone is equipped with three cameras on the rear, and the orange camera on the top can be rotated to become a front camera.

When you need to take a selfie, this camera will appear at the bottom of the screen, and it will be hidden when you don’t need to take a selfie.

It is not yet certain whether this patent will be applied to the new mobile phone, but Xiaomi has mastered the related technology of the under-screen camera, and the technology has been iteratively optimized internally to the third generation, which has reached the mass production commercial standard.

It is reported that it innovatively uses a new self-developed pixel arrangement and redesigns the pixel drive circuit to further improve the light transmittance of the camera area under the screen.

Combined with Xiaomi’s self-developed camera optimization algorithm, it has achieved almost the same imaging performance as the conventional front camera.

Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of Redmi brand, said that Xiaomi’s third-generation off-screen camera technology has solved two major problems in the industry.

One is whether the display of the aperture area is visually the same as other areas (pixel compensation); the other is the transmittance of the camera’s Selfie and the color shift caused by it.

Lu Weibing emphasized that this will be the best solution for the full-screen era.
