As Google’s first self-developed chip, Tensor chip has two 2.02GHz ARM Cortex-X1 super-large cores. Two 2.3GHz ARM Cortex-A76 large cores; four 1.8GHz ARM Cortex-A55 small cores. And the 20-core ARM Mali-G78 graphics processor, the performance is enough to be called excellent.
The Tensor chip uses an eight-core solution with two super-large cores that is more radical than Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.
At the same time, a special TPU module is introduced for AI computing scenarios, which enables the Tensor chip to have a very good performance in AI computing while the performance is guaranteed.
At the same time, the Tensor chip also integrates the Titan M security chip of the previous Pixel series, which further improves the integration of the motherboard.
And while most people are still discussing the performance of the Pixel 6 series and Tensor chips.
The data mining team found clues about Pixel 7 and the second-generation Tensor chip.
By studying the Pixel 6 application, the team found a codename related to Pixel: “Cloudripper”, and believed that this codename is not the development codename of Pixel 7, but the baseboard or development board codename shared by the Pixel 7 series.
The reason for this judgment is that a similar codename “Slider” appeared earlier this year, and this is the baseplate code common to the Pixel 6 series.
It is reported that Cloudripper should be related to Google’s second-generation Tensor chip based on the analysis of the previously viewed documents.
This is because the code name “GS201” is mentioned in the code, and it corresponds to the code name “GS101” of the corresponding Tensor chip previously found in the Pixel 6 series.
Judging from the code name, this “GS201”, which will be used on the Pixel 7 series, will be an upgraded version of the Tensor chip.
This may indicate that Google plans to use the second-generation Tensor chip on next year’s flagship Pixel 7 series.
I hope that when the second-generation Tensor chip is officially released next year, it can give us even greater surprises.
