Samsung has released a new Android 13 beta update for the Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy A52. This is the third beta version of the former and the second beta version of the latter. The South Korean company has been testing the new Android version and its One UI 5.0 customization software since August. The stable Android 13 update is expected to roll out later this month.
The latest release fixes several bugs found in previous Android 13 beta builds for Galaxy S21 and Galaxy A52 phones. Samsung’s official changelog for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra mentions a fix for a sleep mode bug that caused them to automatically activate (passed). Another bug prevents the screen from turning on if sleep mode is active. The company has fixed it too. Samsung also fixed a crash that occurred when entering the App folder, changing wallpapers, or using S Pen air commands on compatible models. Issues with vibration feedback have also been fixed.
In addition, on the Galaxy A52, Samsung has also fixed an issue with the two-finger swipe gesture in split-screen mode. Other known issues such as Bluetooth not appearing in the Quick Toolbar, fingerprint bug, drawing options in the photo editor not working, and Settings app crash when opening a connection have also been fixed.
The latest Android 13 beta for Galaxy S21 and Galaxy A52 phones still contains some known issues. Samsung will fix them in subsequent releases. Or we can get the stable version directly now.
Samsung is nearing a stable Android 13 release
Samsung is also running the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta program for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S20 series. The former has already received four beta builds, and may get one more next week before the stable release. The beta program for the latter started only a few weeks ago. It may get more beta releases.
As mentioned, Samsung is expected to start rolling out the stable Android 13 update to its devices later this month. The Galaxy S22 series should receive it first, followed by other models. We expect the company to seed the new Android version for most of its eligible flagship models by the end of the year. Some premium mid-range phones, like the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A52, may also get the update before 2023. We will keep you informed of all these updates.
