Cyberpunk 2077 is not the perfect match with PS4, despite it’s back in PlayStation

Back in December 2020, as we all know, the Sony has decided to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store due to the sheer number of bugs and performance problems it contained. Now the game is back, but Sony is recommending base PS4 owners don’t play it.

As the report, the listing for Cyberpunk 2077 has re-appeared on the PlayStation Store for $49.99. It’s compatible with PS4, PS4 Pro, and PS5 systems, but an important notice appears at the top of the store page description, which states, “Users continue to experience performance issues with this game. Purchase for use on PS4 systems is not recommended. For the best Cyberpunk experience on PlayStation, play on PS4 Pro and PS5 systems.”

Thus while Cyberpunk 2077 will still run on a base PS4, your enjoyment of it may be impaired by performance problems CD Projekt still hasn’t been able to fix despite multiple patches being released for the title. CD Projekt also commented about the availability via the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, stating “Users may continue to experience some performance issues with the PS4 edition while we continue to improve stability across all platforms. The PS4 Pro and PS5 versions of the game will provide the best experience on PlayStation.”
