Important points
1.Vivo Y53s India launch expected soon as it appeared on the BIS website.
2.Vivo Y53s specs include a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, 8GB of RAM, an FHD+ screen, and Android 11.
3.The phone could be launched in China first and will support 33W fast charging.
Vivo made the plan on launching yet another Y-series smartphone in India in the form of the Vivo Y53s. Some time ago, the brand launched the Vivo V52s (t1 Edition) in China. The Vivo Y53s will serve as its successor, of sorts, but bereft of 5G connectivity, for some reason. MySmartPrice has stumbled upon the smartphone on several certification websites, including the BIS (Bureau of Indian standards), indicating that Vivo could launch the smartphone in India at some point.
Whereas, Vivo would almost certainly make the Vivo Y53s available in its home market first.
According to the Vivo Y53s Google Play Console listing, the smartphone will ship with a MediaTek MT6769T chipset, which is essentially an Helio G80. Other specs include an FHD+ screen, 8GB of RAM, and Android 11. One can’t help but wonder why 5G connectivity was left out, given that its predecessor had it. Perhaps this only applies to the Vivo Y53s variant sold in India. Its Chinese counterpart could ship with a different chipset that supports 5G.
The only useful bit of information we get from the Vivo Y53s CQC listing is that it will support fast charging at 33W. This is a significant upgrade because its predecessors only supported 18W. It’ll be interesting to see what other goodies Vivo has in store for us. However, we should keep our expectations on the down-low, as Vivo’s Y-series of smartphones are budget offerings. Vivo will, in all likelihood, recycle some hardware across the two generations, including its 90Hz LCD screen.
