For Apple, they are going to upgrade the screen of the iPad series next.
Following the recent adoption of mini-LED screens in the highest-end 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple plans to adopt OLED display technology in some iPad models next year. The report quoted industry insiders as saying that Apple will use OLED displays instead of LCDs in some iPad models starting in 2022.
Apple currently uses OLED displays on higher-end iPhones and all Apple Watch models, while the remaining product lines continue to use LCD technology.
The OLED displays of Apple products are currently provided by Samsung and LG, and ETNews believes that these two suppliers will also provide OLED displays for future iPads.
Last month, Apple launched a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which uses mini-LED technology. Compared with LCD, it has deeper blacks, stronger contrast, and higher brightness. Apple is expected to continue to use mini-LED display technology in new MacBook Pro models this year at the earliest.
