Apple today released the fifth beta of the upcoming watchOS 9.1 update to developers for testing purposes, and the new beta comes a week after Apple released the fourth watchOS 9.1 beta.
To install watchOS 9.1, developers need to download a configuration file from the Apple Developer Center. Once installed, “watchOS 9.1” can be downloaded from the dedicated Apple Watch app on your iPhone by going to General > Software Update. To update to the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have 50 percent battery life, it needs to be on a charger, and it needs to be within range of the iPhone.
We don’t yet know what’s included in the watchOS 9.1 update, as no new features were discovered in the beta, but watchOS 9 brings many changes, including a redesigned Compass app, new medication tracking features, updated watch faces, improvements Workouts, new features in the ECG app, and more.
