According to a report today from The Information’s Wayne Ma, Apple is working on a larger 16-inch iPad, which it hopes to release in the fourth quarter of 2023. This will be the largest iPad model ever, larger than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
“The 16-inch iPad may be aimed at creative professionals such as graphic artists and designers who prefer a larger screen,” the report said. No further details were provided about the expected device, which will have the same screen size as the 16-inch MacBook Pro, Provides users with a larger canvas to work with.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed last year that Apple was exploring the idea of a larger iPad, which could further “blur” the line between tablet and laptop.
Earlier this year, display industry analyst Ross Young claimed that Apple is also working on a larger 14-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display. Considering these two rumors, it is possible that Apple is planning to release 14-inch and 16-inch iPad Pro models next year, which will be the same as the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.
Last week, Apple just updated the iPad Pro with an M2 chip, Wi-Fi 6E, Apple Pencil hover, ProRes video recording support, and a few other small improvements.
