Qualcomm (QCOM-US) announced the launch of the new Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G mobile platform, an upgraded product of the Snapdragon 888 flagship mobile platform.
Major OEM manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Vivo, Honor, and Asus are expected to launch mobile phones equipped with this platform, and they are expected to come out in the third quarter as soon as possible.
Qualcomm said that so far more than 130 mobile phones have announced or are in development with the Snapdragon 888 series platform.
This time, Snapdragon 888 Plus uses smart entertainment features to achieve a flagship experience, including artificial intelligence-enhanced gaming experience, video streaming, photography and more.
Qualcomm pointed out that the new platform is equipped with the full functionality of Snapdragon Elite Gaming.
Users can enjoy ultra-smooth responsiveness, HDR image quality with rich chroma, and desktop-level performance of mobile devices.
Compared with the previous generation, Snapdragon 888 Plus is equipped with an enhanced version of Kryo 680 CPU Prime with a core clock speed of up to 3.0 GHz.
Equipped with the sixth-generation Qualcomm AI Engine performance has also increased by more than 20%, up to 32 TOPS artificial intelligence computing performance.
Christopher Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of the mobile terminal device business unit of Qualcomm Technologies, said that the latest Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G flagship mobile platform will provide users with top entertainment, networking capabilities and e-sports experience.
