The Honor X40 GT will be available on October 13. The Shenzhen-based company confirmed the launch of the new Honor X-series smartphones in China via Weibo on Monday. Honor also shared a poster and video on the Chinese Weibo platform detailing the design details and some specs of the new gaming-centric phone. The Honor X40 GT is teased to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Additionally, live photos of the phone have leaked online, hinting at a punch-hole display design.
The new Honor X40 GT will be launched in China on October 13. According to a teaser poster shared by the company on Weibo, the launch event will take place at 7:30pm local time (5:00pm IST). As mentioned, the Honor X40 GT was tested with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. The official teaser also shows a large camera ring on the back with three sensors and an LED flash as well as GT branding.
At present, the pre-sale of the Honor X40 GT has been carried out on the Honor Mall website and major online retailers such as Tmall, Suning, Douyin, and JD.com. However, pricing details and other specifications of the upcoming device are not yet known.
Tipster Digital Chat Station posted a hands-on rendering of the alleged Honor X40 GT on Weibo. Leaked live photos show the phone in shades of black with a punch-hole display design. The images also confirmed the circular island on the back. Additionally, the power button and volume rocker can be seen on the left spine of the smartphone.
The Honor X40 GT is likely to be positioned above the Honor X40 recently launched in China. The base Honor X40 is priced at CNY 1,499 (~Rs 17,100) with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage. It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of built-in storage. The Honor X40 comes with a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. It comes with a 5,100mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging.
