It may be a shot in the dark, but they’re going for it nevertheless. Fans are hoping Samsung to bring back the Galaxy Note series as early as the first half of next year when it’s usually time for new Galaxy S series flagships to be released.
The prtition on Change.org was started by folks over at SamMobile. It urges Samsung to skip the Galaxy S22 series and launch new Galaxy Note smartphones instead.
“The Galaxy Note lineup of smartphones is loved by millions of fans around the world, and they were pretty disappointed when Samsung said it wouldn’t be launching a new Note flagship in 2021, partly because of the chip shortage that has gripped the industry,” the petition notes.
Samsung decided not to launch a Galaxy Note this year. Instead, the company is speeding up to release the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 on August 11. It’s also launching a new S Pen designed to work with foldable phones and will bring Note features to more Samsung Galaxy devices going forward.
Folks signing the petition agree with SamMobile that Samsung “could keep all of its flagship lineups alive by alternating between them, all while keeping all of its fans happy at the same time!” Over 8,000 people have already signed the petition that targets 10,000 signatures.
That said, it seems highly unlikely that Samsung will pay any heed to requests of dumping the Galaxy S22 series in favor of Note phones. The company’s new foldables won’t be much older than six months by the time the new Galaxy S series arrives. Besides that, the Galaxy S21 series has done pretty well for Samsung given its lower pricing compared to the S20 series. Samsung would likely want to continue that streak with the S22 phones.
What do you think Samsung should do? Should it replace the Galaxy S22 lineup with new Galaxy Note phones or not? Just leave a comment and let us know.
