Hey, gamers, as we all know, GPD Win Max 2021 is a handheld system based on several powerful components, not least the processors with which it will be available. In May, GPD would sell the Win Max 2021 with an Intel Core i7-1165G7, Core i7-1185G7 or an AMD Ryzen 7 4800U. The company had hoped to utilise the Ryzen 7 5800U instead, which would have offered higher CPU and GPU clock speeds, among other changes. Whereas, Ryzen 7 5800U shortages prevented GPD from doing so.
All models are going to be available with 16 GB of dual-channel RAM clocked at 4,266 MHz and a 1 TB SSD. Additionally, GPD has stuck with the 8-inch and 1,280 x 800-pixel display that it used in the current Win Max. The Win Max 2021 shares its keyboard, built-in controller buttons and chassis with its predecessor.
Win Max 2021 just has the new motherboard. However, GPD states that it will sell new motherboards separately for those who purchased a Win Max. If you have already done so, then GPD will provide a tutorial video, a USB drive pre-loaded with system firmware, a screwdriver and some thermal paste. GPD has confirmed that the Core i7-1165G7 and Ryzen 7 4800U motherboards will cost US$669. It doesn’t plan to sell the Core i7-1185G7-powered motherboards.
GPD is going to begin taking orders for the Win Max 2021 on Indiegogo from July 29. The company aims to start delivering Tiger Lake models in mid-September and Ryzen ones in October. The crowdfunding prices for the three models are as the follows:
GPD Win Max 2021
AMD Ryzen 7 4800U – US$999
Intel Core i7-1165G7 – US$999
Intel Core i7-1185G7 – US$1,400
