It took one month since its launch in India, but now the realme 8 Pro has made its way to our shores. But oddly enough, it comes to Malaysia alone, without the base version of the phone.
The Realme 8 Pro remains mostly unchanged since its first appearance. We’re still looking at a 6.4-inch device, with a Full HD+ display and its 180Hz touch sampling rate. Inside, we see the familiar Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Something else worth mentioning is the fact that the 6GB option is also not available here, so all we have is a single variant.
Realme 8 also uses a 6.4-inch FHD+AMOLED display with a screen ratio of 90.8%, a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels, a touch sampling rate of 180Hz, and a brightness of 1000nits. Using MediaTek Helio G95 SoC with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. There are three versions: 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB. Realme 8 is equipped with a copper liquid cooling system and runs Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. The dimensions are 160.6×73.9×7.99 mm and the weight is 177 grams. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C interface for charging and data synchronization.
With the 108MP main camera being a major highlight of the phone, that obviously did not change. That’s not to say that the others did, as we’re still looking at the 8MP wide angle, 2MP macro, and 2MP monochrome cameras. In front, the 16MP shooter sits in the top left corner.
The Realme 8 Pro comes in with a price of RM1299. It becomes officially available on shelves starting 1 may 2021. But as is common with the brand, there are incentives for you to pre-order, which opens today. This includes a gift box and an extra year of warranty, as well as eligibility for a lucky draw when you pick up your device. Prizes awarded here include a 43-inch realme Smart TV, the realme Buds Air Pro, the realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush, and the realme Smart Scale. There are 88 of each to be won.
