As a short-lived smart operating system in the current market, Samsung’s Tizen system may soon be abandoned by the company.
According to the latest news, Samsung’s next-generation smart watches: Galaxy Watch 4 and Active 4 will be launched in the second quarter of this year. The biggest change of these two new smart watches is to abandon the Tizen OS developed in-house and switch to Google Wear OS.
Max Weinbach of Android Police analyzed the APK file of the latest version of the Galaxy Wearable application and found two codenames – Fresh and Wise.
Representing Samsung’s next-generation smart watches, Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4, respectively, it is reported that the new smart watches will have two sizes: 40/41mm and 44/45mm, and they are all equipped with Bluetooth and cellular mobile network support.
In addition, a new plug-in code-named “water” was found in the APK file, which is said to be a compatibility layer designed by Samsung for Wear OS, and a new system was also found in the Galaxy Wearable application files.
This can basically confirm that Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 equipped with Google Wear OS.
Of course, whether you will completely abandon Tizen and not adapt Tizen OS on them is not known, but the cooperation between Samsung and Google, the two top manufacturers, is bound to bring a better experience and ecology, which is indeed a good thing.
The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 are worthy of attention this time. According to multiple sources, they will add blood glucose monitoring functions.
Using the Raman spectroscopy method jointly developed with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, it can monitor whether hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia in real time, and more comprehensively monitor the body state.
